POST PROCESSING WORKSHOPS
Individual or Group Photoshop Classes Port Aransas, Texas Instructor: Andy Cook With the advent of digital photography a requirement for post processing was also reborn. What is done with a camera on location amounts to about half of the process of creating a great image. The other half of creating a great image is done in a digital darkroom (on a computer). Over the years we have found some very talented photographers attending our workshops, but often they lacked knowledge of how to post process images to create truly remarkable photographs. That is why we offering two 5 day Post Processing Workshops for individuals or small groups.
1. Post Processing Workshop - Introduction to Photoshop This is a class for those desiring an introduction to Adobe
Photoshop. Some major topics covered include, raw processing, Photoshop tools, layers, masking and post processing
workflow. This workshop has a lecture component where Andy will demonstrate a technique once,
then slowly demonstrates the technique again while participants use the
same image(s) and follow along. Afterwards participants practice the
technique on their own to reinforce it. Many post processing techniques are covered each day. Homework,
if a participant is up to it, is to apply the day's lessons to a few of
their images brought from home. The lectures of this workshop cover
using Adobe Bridge, Adobe Bridge Photo Downloader, Adobe Camera Raw,
Adobe Photoshop. Participants need to bring a laptop with Adobe Bridge,
Adobe Photoshop and Photomatix (optional) installed and have
their monitors calibrated. If a participant is currently using
and proficient with Lightroom then they may substitute Lightroom for
Bridge. Andy will not provide Lightroom instruction.2. Post Processing Workshop II - Aid Processing Your Images
For
some photographers, even those who are comfortable with Photoshop, it
is hard to know where to take an image with post processing, what should
the image look like when it is finished? The goal of this workshop is
to help participants answer this question. To enroll in this workshop a
participant must have first attended our post processing workshop or
through a discussion with Andy been
approved for this workshop. This is to ensure every participant is at
the proper level to get the most from their time at this workshop. Each
day Andy will individually guide participants as they process their own
images. Participants should preselect, group together and bring 20 to 40
(separate compositions; a bracketed series equals one image) of their
own images for processing. Additionally, before the workshop,
participants should search the internet and magazines for images with
the processed look they desire in their own images and bring these
examples to show Andy, Participants need to bring a laptop,
Photoshop, Photomatix (optional) and have
their monitors calibrated.
