Crested Butte Mountain Sunrise

Captured from high in an alpine meadow in Crested Butte, Colorado, this scene showcases a serene mountain sunrise. In the foreground, white and yellow wildflowers bloom along the left, while the meadow slopes down toward a saddle where a forest begins. Wispy morning fog lingers in the forest, and beyond, a dense fog fills a low valley. Rising majestically from the fog, a ridge of the Rocky Mountains emerges on the far side of the valley. Above the mountains, the sun paints the clouds a soft yellow, though it has yet to break through and illuminate the scene directly.
